First Aid Response Recertification Blended Learning

Our Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response course is designed to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competencies to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace, in compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations, 2007. This blended course is carried out through a combination of eLearning and classroom learning. As a franchisee of Dulann.com, we give participants access to our eLearning portal, where they will complete their learning at their own pace. On completion of the eLearning, participants then attend for the practical skills element of the course. This is carried out by PHECC FAR Instructors listed on the training faculty of EMS & Associates, which is a PHECC Approved Training Institution.

Course Methodology & Assessment

eLearning:
Multiple Choice Questions at the end of each module. 100% must be achieved so that participants can move to the next module. At the end of the 8 modules, a ‘Passport’ certificate is issued which allows the participants to progress to the practical class

Participants have up to 6 weeks, after completion of the eLearning, to attend for the practical skills.

Skills Demonstrations:

Assessments are carried out by the FAR Instructor on practical skills throughout the course, e.g. Cardiac First Response (CFR) and other practical first aid skills.

Examination – Theory:

A written exam of 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs); the pass mark is 60% (12 questions must be answered correctly)
