The Infection Prevention & Control course is designed for any person working in a healthcare setting, e.g. nurse, porter, healthcare assistant, etc. This course helps participants to understand how infection and disease spreads and how they can play their part in infection control through good practices.
This course is based on the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections and the World Health Organization – 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene.
Assessments of the learners are carried out through the tutor’s observations of their engagement on the course and their participation in the practical skills sessions.
One half-day with a 15-minute refreshment break
No previous qualifications are required for learners to participate in the course.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an Infection Prevention and Control Certificate from EMS & Associates.
