We have a small update from PHECC in relation to First Aid Responder Certificates:
As an Approved Training Institution (ATI), we have been advised by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) that there will be a further extension to the validity of First Aid Responder certificates. They state as follows “Council, at their meeting on 21st January 2021, further advised that if a Responders certification has expired between March 2020 and 31st July 2021, a Responder may complete the refresher course to maintain certification”. This statement means for First Aid Responders that if their FAR Certificate has expired, but was issued post-March 2020, it will be considered valid until 31st July 2021. However, if a FAR Certificate expired pre-March 2020, it is no longer valid, and a full FAR Course will have to be completed. Please review this link on the PHECC website for the update on PHECC Responder level recertification (21/01/2021).
While instructor-led training is currently on hold, due to Government restrictions, we will inform you when we will be in a position to resume classroom-based training. We will always be guided by Government announcements and public health restrictions. However, in the meantime, should you require training, we can also offer a blended First Aid Responder Course – 9 hours eLearning and 9 hours in Class (1 of only 2 companies in the country offering this option). The eLearning element can be completed at any time, and we can schedule in the instructor-led class when we get back to classroom training. Many companies are choosing to do their eLearning element now so that they are ready for the instructor-led class when restrictions are lifted.
